Today, Samsung has unveiled the Chromebook 2 series, in 11.6-inch and 13.3-inch frames that is expected to be available on sale from next month. The new Samsung Chromebooks has the faux leather look and feel which Samsung describes as, “a durable textured lid and elegant stitched design.”
According to the post : “Since we introduced our first Chromebook in 2011, Samsung has been committed to continually developing our designs and features to meet our users’ ever-changing needs, while staying true to the core Chromebook attributes of simplicity, speed and security,” said Mike Abary, senior vice president of consumer IT product marketing at Samsung Electronics America. “Samsung has been the top selling consumer Chromebook brand for the past three years and we’ll continue to grow our leadership position in this space with the launch of the Chromebook 2 Series.”
The Chromebook of 11.6-inch model features a HD display of 1366 x 768, 4GB of RAM and 16GB of storage and 1.9GHz Samsung Exynos 5 Octa processor. The 13.3-inch variant offers a higher pixel count of 1920 x 1080, an ARM-based processor (2.1GHz) which of very fast speed and 4GB of RAM and 16GB of storage.
Both the variants of Chromebook2 offers HD web camera (720p) for the purpose of video calling and approx 8 hours of battery life. The price for the 11.6 inch model and 13.3 inch model is $319.99 and $399.99 respectievely. The smaller model will be available in Black and White color while model of 13.3 inch will be available only in gray color for now. Both will be available in April 2014.
