Soon Apple is going to begin a Global USB adapter takeback program in India later this month under which it will offer original Apple USB adapter to its users at 50% discount.
Earlier it was came to news that a Chinese women died from an electrocution allegedly caused by a faulty or fake knockoff iPhone charger and also many users getting electric shocks when they used third party or fake adaptor, so Apple announces to provide their customers to bring their old USB power adaptor for iPhone, ipad or iPod and receive their new Apple-designed original charger at low price. Apple in a statement said, “if you need a replacement adapter to charge your iPhone, iPad, or iPod, we recommend getting an Apple USB power adapter. For a limited time, you can purchase one Apple USB power adapter at a special price — $10 USD or approximate equivalent in local currency. “
At present, a Customer can buy only one power adapter from Apple. The program starts in US from 16 August 2013 and will be valid till until October 18, 2013. As of now this program is not available in India but it is expected that it will be introduced in India by early next month.
