Adobe brings 3D Printing Tools to Photoshop

A good news for all designers, Adobe is bringing amazing 3D printing tools to Photoshop CC with MakerBots and Shapeways Integration.

Adobe Photoshop today has launced a latest update to its Creative Cloud (CC)suite. Seeing the growing popularity of 3D printing at a very fast rate, Adobe has now introduces the support for 3D printing within Photoshop CC. The latest update will be available for free for all Creative Cloud members today and now you can start editing and customizing the 3D models which will add feathers to your designs. Photoshop users can also add color, adjust the shape, rotate the angles and can also design 3D models from scratch.

“The new 3D print capabilities in Photoshop CC take the guess work out of printing 3D models for everyone,” said Winston Hendrickson, vice president products, Creative Media Solutions, Adobe. “Before today there was a gap between the content produced by 3D modeling tools and what 3D printers need in order to deliver high quality results. Now, by simply clicking ‘Print’ in Photoshop CC, creatives can bring 3D designs to the physical world.”

Not only you can create and design 3D models in Photoshop now, but you can also print it if you have a 3D printer, chances are that Photoshop CC will support it. Five 3D file formats that are accepted in the new Photoshop CC are OBJ, STL, 3DS, Collada, and KMZ.
Along with the 3D printing features, Adobe has also brings aWarp feature in photoshop that will allow the designers to manipulate images in Photoshop CC to give a new designing experience.

According to a press-release (http://www.adobe.com/news-room/pressreleases/201401/011614Photoshop3DPrinting.html), it says – “With today’s release of Photoshop CC, designs can be printed to a locally connected 3D printer or via built-in access to popular online 3D print services. Photoshop CC supports the most popular desktop 3D printers, such as the MakerBot Replicator, and also supports the full range of high quality materials available on Shapeways — the 3D printing community and marketplace — including ceramics, metals, and full color sandstone. Additionally, Photoshop users can now directly upload their 3D models to the Sketchfab 3D publishing service, and embed them in their Behance profile using Sketchfab’s interactive 3D viewer.”

The latest update requires Photoshop version 14.1 to be installed on computers and The Adobe’s 3D printing tools can also be accessed for a free 30-day trial period.
