Facebook launches ‘Paper’, a News Reader App

Facebook today has announced a news reader app known as Paper for providing a way to maximum number of users to read news using their smartphones on the go where readers can browse through different news section and read any news from the section of their choice.

 

“Paper makes storytelling more beautiful with an immersive design and full-screen, distraction-free layouts,” the company said in a statement. “We’ve also made it easier to craft and share beautiful stories of your own.” The app was created by a team of 15 members as part of a broader company initiative known as Facebook Creative Labs.

 

Facebook Paper App also include the section of News Feed for its users to present their Facebook profile news feed, recent posts of their friends etc. The News Feed section features a new design for photos and video section and the ability to read longer written posts. In addition to the Facebook news feed, the application has several news topic such as science, technology, education, fun etc., for its readers.

 

Facebook CEO, Mark Zuckerberg said “While the core business growth is going to come from the main app that exists,”,”you should also expect us to start building a few of these other things that we will focus on over time and develop into meaningful things like Messenger and Instagram are today.”

 

Currently it is only an iOS app and will be available for the iPhone on February 3rd.
